Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard-working and amazing. They come to school happy and ready to learn each day. They speak a variety of different languages and come from homes where there is often not enough money for food, let alone technology. Most of my students do not have the resources to support buying extras. Our school does not have the money to buy all the technology that we need.

My students are motivated by technology.

They acquire skills quickly despite not having access to technology outside the classroom. They love exploring their world using websites, web videos, and simulations.

My Project

My students need three ipad minis to allow them to access apps that will increase their knowledge and understanding in science. My students often do not have technology at home and these ipads will help level the playing field and give them the opportunity to experience the same apps and interactive websites as those students at more affluent schools.

My students get so excited and motivated by technology!

They can't wait to experience and learn new things digitally. Some of the apps that we can't wait to try are: Earthviewer, Wonders of Life, Complete Anatomy, NASA, Ted. My students are going to be so engaged as they are able to analyze real time data, build arguments, and find evidence to support their claims.
