My Project

In a first grade classroom, throughout the course of a year, you feel as if you see miracles taking place, and that you can actually watch the students grow before your eyes.

Many of them come to me not knowing how to read or write, and by the end of the year, they are ready to start reading chapter books.

Sometimes for students that are not ready to read yet, there are not as many exciting books to read, and instead, stuck with the black and white books that I can print out for them. It is my hope that with this project that I will be able to provide my students with highly engaging quality literature that will encourage them to read more and more so that they can grow in their reading abilities and become lifelong readers.
