This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a low income school where writing has been neglected and where 90 percent of my students claim they are not good writers. All the work we do in my language arts classes, wheter it is reading a classic, engaging in discussion, or completing Khan Academy grammar lessons, have a very specific goal: writing. Students show their understanding of topics by reflecting on them and poring their ideas on paper.

Having students complete all the steps in the writing process is important, but the final publication stage is what will give them the motivation to do their best in the whole process.

That's why having priting capacity in the classroom is of great importance. Supplying my classroom with ink, paper, a voice assistant for research and discussion, and other materials to prep the classroom for writing is paramount. These materials will allow them to print their final essays and post them in the classroom for display.
