Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the most creative, kind-hearted, thoughtful and ready to learn group kids that I have ever had the pleasure of teaching! They absolutely love to participate during whole group and during our small groups. They are genuinely kind souls who and are so quick to compliment each other as well as help each other too. They enjoy learning together and just seeing each other online each and every day. They often race to complete their hands-on activities with such enthusiasm it makes me smile each and every day.

They love challenges especially those that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. My student are some of the best little people I have ever met they really do inspire me each and every single day!

My Project

I believe that by having an opportunity to actually have learning centers in the classroom and getting materials to be able to label and caption (adhesive vinyl) my classroom my kindergarten students will have a chance to learn in a small group setting like before the pandemic. These items can help students learn by using hands-on manipulatives, learning tools, headphones, as well as material to help me caption our room to enhance their learning experience. The headphones are needed to help them with our daily small group zoom sessions and will provide the opportunity for a small group utilizing technology together. The pencil sharpener will be placed in the writing center so that the students can easily sharpen their own map pencils and regular pencils when drawing and writing about books they've read from the library center. The vinyl adhesives will be used to create captions (in Spanish for my bilingual students) to identify the different learning centers, construct word walls that will be changing constantly throughout the school year. The different colors of vinyl material can be used to help my students identify letter and numbers especially since so many were unable to attend school last year in their own language in a fun and creative manner. The different vinyl material will also be used to create bright colorful word wall for our alphabet center. Since many of my students were not in school last year due to Covid these different materials will help me create a wonderful learning environment full of different to help them adjust to learning in small groups and centers. All of the materials requested will definitely help these well deserving students be successful in both math and reading. These items will definitely enhance the educational environment in our classroom.
