Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a founding teacher at a Title 1 school in Brooklyn. My students are just beginning their educational journey and are super enthusiastic about it. Everyday they come into school ready to explore and take in all I have to give. Each of my students are eager to learn and bring something unique to our classroom. I have English language learners and some students who need a little more support than others. The extra supplies would really help enhance their learning opportunities.

My Project

Pre-K 1 is full of energy and in order to further their learning we need the appropriate supplies in all the centers. The costumes will help them act out what the unit is teaching them. One of the tables will be in dramatic play so students can have dinner parties, set up a post office, and eventually create a hospital for new born babies. The other table will allow students to practice with play doh. The radio and audio books are a great way for students to begin "reading" on their own. Four year olds learn so much through picture books therefore supporting texts will guide their learning. Puppets give students a friend to "read" books to. The supplies I have selected are going to assist their learning in all areas.
