My Project

As a Special Education Classroom teacher, it is essential to have a diverse classroom library to provide rich experiences that encourage communication, language development, and socialization amongst my students. I have an amazing class of 6 students, all of which are English Language Learners and are on the the Autism Spectrum. It is crucial for my students to be exposed to literacy, as well as build and expand on their literacy skills, while remaining sensory integrated.

Help expand our classroom library to include sensory books, fine motor books and early development literacy books to engage my students in learning to enjoy the reading process, both during instruction and during times of leisure.

Many of my students are learning crucial reading, pre-writing and communication skills that are aligned with milestones of early childhood learners. This project will expand our classroom library to include literacy experiences that encourage communication, identification of vocabulary, sensory regulation and peer interactions. We would be forever grateful!
