Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning, students walk into our downtown Brooklyn school ready to learn. We're a school that's growing in diversity while welcoming more students of different ethnicities, academic backgrounds, and levels.

Our classes are full of discussions, math, science, technology, and more!

This past school year (and a half) has been an incredibly wild one and we're looking towards a more "normal" 2021 - 2022 school year ahead.

My Project

Our classroom libraries lost books over the past year and a half of the worldwide pandemic we're currently in. Books were sent home, checked out, and not brought back. It's okay though, if there's anything I don't mind a student keeping, it's a book in their hands.

This upcoming year, we'd love to replenish our library with some high interest graphic novels!

This will help begin replenish our classroom library and give our incoming 6th graders a nice selection to choose from. This project asks for graphic novels, which often capture the interest of many students, even the more reluctant readers.
