My Students

My students have not yet discovered the joy of reading! I want to be able to open up their worlds through reading and give every child the chance to take reading materials home to share with their families.

My students are an amazing group of multicultural children, who come from impoverished backgrounds.

Our entire school receives free breakfast and lunch which ensures our bodies have the fuel to learn. Students very rarely have their own reading materials at home and love to receive books as a gift.

My Project

I am requesting reading materials to use with my students. Time for Kids will allow each student to not only receive a weekly reader but they will also take this home to share with their families. The nonfiction reading materials will allow me to focus on teaching through the Common Core standards. Students learn valuable real world information while learning to read at their own current level.

This project will put nonfiction reading materials in the hands of each student.

Each child will be able to learn about current topics and share that information with their household.
