Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of the world. ~David Warlick (educator, programmer, & author) Please help us in adding a wireless printer to our classroom.

The knowledge of technology my students have is amazing.

They teach me new aspects in editing on the computer, different shortcuts on the iPad, or ways to improve my speed in finishing a project. Each day they bring in their personal tablets for use in the classroom. We use the online learners dictionary to define new vocabulary words. We research information on different topics for informative and explanatory essays. Also, we enjoy using websites such as scholastic, historychannel, and thinkcentral to extend our learning. Finally, my students favorite aspect to incorporating these tablets in the classroom is to publish their writing to share and display with our fellow classmates.

My Project

We are fortunate enough to have a good wireless connection in our school. In our classroom, there are only two desktop computers, and a few laptops. An addition of a wireless printer will benefit my class and the students. After typing their draft essays, they can revise, edit, and publish in their tablets or laptops. Usually, SOME students take turns emailing and printing their essay from the desktop computers. Since, this takes time only 3 out of 20 students on a given publishing day can print their work. Other students have to just hand write their final copies.

If my students had a wireless printer, they would all be able to type and print their PUBLISHED writing pieces in our classroom!

Our bulletin board presentations can also be enhanced when we display our writing pieces.
