Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ambitious readers and fly through library books faster than I can take them to check out new ones. They need support keeping their books organized and in good condition, and these books bags will show their individuality as well as help them learn important behavioral skills.

My students are avid readers and competitive seekers.

They are curious and love to read and learn. Our school is a large urban school in New York and we have a large English Language Learner and Students with Disabilities population. Many of my students have set ambitious goals for their future and are self motivated to work hard and reach academic success.

My Project

Students will get to choose and decorate a personal book bag to transport their library books to and from school. Students will be able to make choices regarding their writing paper with the organization shelf. Students will be encouraged to use their public library branch and new book bag to continue independent reading and writing over the summer.

This project will inspire students to be excited about reading and learning both at school and at home.

This project will support students in the important academic organizational behaviors necessary for academic success.
