Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a science/STEM teacher in the South Bronx, NY, which is one of the most poverty stricken areas in New York City. My elementary school also houses one of the biggest shelter populations of children in all of NYC. As a science/STEM teacher, I would love to give my scientists the opportunity to collaborate, team build, and use critical thinking skills while being creative in an organized classroom.

My goal with the project Let's Get Organized and Learn" is to provide an attractive and organized classroom for my scientists to work in and bloom.

The organization cart and bins will be used for the materials that come with our science curriculum being used for kindergarteners to hold to 5th graders. The bins will also be use for materials such as glue sticks, markers, crayons, pencils, and various materials my scientists use daily. Scientists will have access to materials readily with the help of this cart and organizational supplies.

The STEM materials and supplies that I have requested will provide a rich, engaging environment and help students in grades K-5 become strong, confident learners. These young scientists deserve the best education that we can give them. They are unique in the sense that they always bring energy, excitement and the desire to do better. I have witnessed their enthusiasm for learning when provided with educational experiences that place them at the heart of the process. Please consider making our "STEM" classroom thrive!
