Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Graphic novels often appeal to students who may not be drawn to traditional text-based books. The visual storytelling aspect can captivate their interest and encourage them to read more. Graphic novels offer a unique blend of text and visual elements, which can help my students develop skills in both reading comprehension and visual literacy.

By carefully selecting a range of graphic novels, we can ensure that my classroom library reflects diverse perspectives, cultures, and experiences.

This can help students see themselves represented in the books they read and foster empathy and understanding of others. In today's digital age, where visual media plays a significant role in communication and entertainment, introducing graphic novels into the classroom can help bridge the gap between traditional literature and contemporary forms of storytelling. My goals for this project include creating a vibrant and updated classroom library that not only provides students with access to high-quality reading material but also fosters a love for reading and learning. By incorporating graphic novels, I aim to meet students where they are and provide them with reading materials that resonate with their interests and preferences.
