Help me give my students flexible classrooms that give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and help them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class of energetic learners all come from different backgrounds, which helps make a unique and diverse learning community. As a class, we strive to empower and support each other. Fifth grade is when students really start to show themselves as individuals and free thinkers. As their teacher, it is wonderful to see my students advocating for themselves and their learning. We are a part of a wonderful school that works to give the students what they need to be successful.
My energetic learners love to move around and have options for their various learning styles.
Learning how to effectively express thoughts, feelings, and needs is a huge goal that my class has been working on throughout the year. Recognizing what you need in order to be successful in (and out of) the classroom is tricky, and my students are making great strides in their progress!
As a teacher in a high needs area, it can be difficult to acquire all the materials you need to help your students achieve their greatest potential. Flexible seating has been out of my reach due to the cost of offering various choices. I am working incredibly hard to obtain these options for my students to help them succeed. A big part of our classroom community stems from our classroom meetings. During these meetings, I teach the students how to communicate their needs effectively.
Flexible seating is a need that my students have expressed to me and it is important to me to help my young learners on their educational journeys.
I have selected a few options to give my students a variety of choices.
