Help me give my students some flexible seating options! In Kindergarten they need to be able to move to help focus their brains. We are all about meeting kids where they are and giving them choices!

My Students
Picture this: a classroom of 26 five-year-olds staring at you, eager to soak up any information being taught! They are excited and energetic, despite the fact that many of them come from families with very little. I want my students to have the best resources in front of them all the time!
My students are from a high poverty area of DC.
Teachers are dedicated to ensuring students have the best of what's around and students are excited to learn and grow. Every day I walk into school, I am greeted by the best-smiling five-year-olds around. It is my job to make sure I am doing everything I can to set them up for successful school careers that lead to the amazing lives that they want and deserve.
My Project
As the years have gone, the academic rigor has increased and the amount of movement and play has decreased in these youngest grades. We have also seen an uptick in kids who are diagnosed with hyperactivity and who just have a tough time sitting still.
Flexible seating meets students where they are at, letting them move in a productive way to get some energy out and focusing their brains at the same time!
The ball chairs will let students bounce a little as they work... think yoga balls that some people choose as their office chairs! The wobble chairs let students rock a little back and forth. How comforting can a rocking chair be? This is a smaller version of that to help our younger learners!
More than half of students from low‑income households
