Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want my all of second grade students to make tremendous growth this year!

We will be working hard to learn about the world around us through reading and writing.

Unfortunately, we are differently-abled and all of us access information differently. While they all express an eagerness to learn, my students with special needs experience challenges that make it more difficult for them to reach their fullest potential.

My school is located in a high-poverty area and is filled with amazing, curious students that face many challenges, both at home and in school. In addition, many students are English-language learners and/or have non-english speaking caretakers at home.

My Project

My students will walk into my room with all different abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Yet, we will all strive towards the same goal-learning to love reading and reaching our learning goals.

Study after study shows that access to technology increases student achievement in many ways.

My students can use these tablets to gather information for research projects. These tablets will also be used for accessing online learning apps to increase vocabulary, reading fluency, and math fluency. My English language learner students will use these tablets to listen to books, which will help build their language skills.

The benefits of these tablets are thousand-fold. The cases will help protect them from little and eager hands. The docking station will keep them charged and ready to use each day.
