My Students

My students are the reason I love going to work everyday. Each student is special and unique in their own way. Being able to do different crafts/projects allows fine motor skills to develop and lets the students explore their creative side. I love and treat all my students as one of my own. I love getting to hear their stories, seeing them overcome a challenge, and watching their face light up when they learn something new. I try to do a different art project each week and we do something special for every holiday. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and we plan to do something special for each student and their parents. The students, families, and myself all love getting to see the outcome of each project. COVID-19 has made things difficult. Students thrive on interaction with each other and hands on learning. My students have missed out on a lot of key developmental stages due to COVID-19. Things have been difficult for everyone but my younger students have suffered significantly.

My Project

Pre-K students thrive on being able to express themselves through art. I focus on doing one art project each week and for every holiday. Painting, coloring, cutting, and gluing, the messier the better. I try and make sure my students have fun while learning! For an end of the year project we build scrapbooks for each student. I allow each student to personalize them. I take photos throughout the year of all of our projects, field trips, and everything in between so each student has plenty of photos. This allows the students to create something they can keep with them forever as well collaborate with other students in the class to create the scrapbook. The requested resources will allow me to continue this project and make each students school year special. This will further their education by developing key skills: collaboration, fine and gross motor skills, decision making, improve hand eye coordination, and develop their creative side. The supplies I requested will be used in various projects throughout the year and to finish the scrapbooks. I print the photos on my personal colored printer using the card stock and the lamination sleeves. I also supply school supplies for a majority of my students every year to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. Any of the requested items will help my classroom immensely and ensure the students succeed!
