My Students
I have been at my job for over 20 years. I love my job and my students. We are able to really get to know our students and act as their counselors, job coaches, and teachers. Each student brings something great to the classroom and our goal is to watch them make and keep their goals.
Realistic Transition Program (RTP) offers personalized, small group classroom instruction for students transitioning from high school to the adult world.
Students with IEPs can have extra time (through the year they turn 21) to get support and services in learning how to be successful adults.
This half-day program supports students in their transition from high school to the adult world.
Students receive small group and personalized classroom instruction in getting and keeping jobs, becoming more independent, learning about finances, connecting with community resources, finding post-secondary college/training, and completing high school requirements
My Project
Our wonderful students love to draw and doodle. They are so creative and really get into their art. It helps them to focus, relieves stress and anxiety, and shows their creativity.
My goal for this project is to make art and creativity important for my students.
The learning outcome is to have my students demonstrate persistence in developing skills with various materials, methods, and approaches in their drawings.
Having these art supplies would give my students a range of materials that they can choose from and expand their creativity.
