Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Title I school, which is considered the highest poverty, our students are in need of many tools to help them build a stronger educational and active foundation. Sports and technology can help these students to bridge social gaps and learn without language being a barrier.

Not only are we a Title I school, with many of our students coming from low-income backgrounds, but we also have a large group of immigrant students who are just learning to adapt to American culture.

Our students want to learn and we want to provide them with the best opportunity and equipment to succeed at whatever they put their minds to.

My Project

Due to the current pandemic, Physical Education classrooms have been trying their best to find alternatives ways to help students develop their hand/eye coordination without the use of conventional equipment which must be shared and create close contact. This brings us to the use and instruction of the Diabolo or Chinese Yoyo!

With the introduction of the Diabolo or Chinese YoYo, we can allow students to work on their hand and eye coordination with enough spacing (Social Distancing, Affective), hand manipulation (Psychomotor), and performing or creating new tricks (Cognitive) to follow PE guidelines set forth due to the current Pandemic.

With your help, we can do our best to bring our students back into the physical education classroom with something new and exciting to look forward to.
