This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Let us start off with a common known truth, the majority of students don't like math. Motivating a student to find that love and passion for math is a never ending endeavour. However, one approach is incorporating their interests and connecting mathematics to the real world. Therefore, we have my project, "Let's Get Crafty In Math!" My objective is to have students apply concepts and math skills, with the sponsored tools, to create works of art and tackle real world situations in which those concepts and skills are applicable. Using isometric grid paper, graphing paper, protractors, pencils, and color pencils we will construct: tessellations, rotation symmetry patterns, rigid transformations, dilations, and many more. Students need to have these materials to cement their understanding of abstract concepts.
