My Students

What I love about my students is their creatively and motivation. I love the fact that my students use their imaginations and think outside of the box when we are working on regular learning tasks, as well as special projects. From the imagination of my students, it motivates me to think outside of the box when planning classroom activities. I am able to create activities and projects that not only meets the needs of their interests, but also challenges them. My students are my inspiration!

My school is located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York.

Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The school staff and I work effortlessly to provide a safe and loving environment for all of our students. We integrate varieties of learning strategies to meet the needs of our students. We also do work in the community fostering a close relationship with the parents of our students. I have an amazing group of students and an excellent support system from not only my school community, but the parents of my students. I am excited to see what the remainder of the school year is going to be like!

My Project

Many of my students have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. This year is our first year back in the classroom and I want my students to have a safe space to express their emotions. As my students sit in the cozy area, they are able to read a book, play with a toy, draw a picture, and just have the ability to destress in a safe space. Once they are in a better mindset, can rejoin the rest the class in a better mood and be able to have a clearer mindset.

The cozy area will help my students whenever they are struggling emotionally.

The cozy corner provides an emotional safe space and facilitate students regaining focus on instructional tasks. My goal is to use the cozy corner to facilitate my students developing positive strategies to manage their emotions and ability to deal with stress.
