My Students

We have over 800 students at our amazing school which is nestled in Orange County. These students portray a true "melting pot". My enthusiastic group of first graders are achieving at a variety of learning levels. Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!

I want to allow my first graders the opportunity to have flexible seating for their active bodies.

We have a few low tables in the room and we need comfortable seating options for them to sit on rather than just the floor.

My Project

My first graders have been lucky enough to get a classroom make over this year with new tables. However we need new chairs to go with them. We have a couple low tables which require the kiddos to sit on the floor.

I was hoping in order for them to be productive, this comfy floor seating would help them focus during workshop time, independent work, or get lost in their favorite book.

It will also help them during Technology Hour by having a desired spot in which they can work and collaborate with other peers. With this new flexible seating, the student's needs should be met.
