My Students

I have the privilege to teach a wonderful group of gifted students. The gifted program in our county is called Spotlight. This group of children truly bring joy to teaching. They love to learn and be challenged. It is such an amazing sight when you see their "giftedness" shine.

The majority of our students come from lower income households.

Everyday I strive to make my classroom a place where learning is fun, and the kids feel comfortable. These kids deserve the very best, and as an educator, it is my goal to give them my very best every single day.

My Project

In my gifted classroom, many of my students have different learning styles. Always sitting in a desk may not be the best way to learn for some of them. I always give them the opportunity to choose where they would like to sit.

Right now, I only have tables in my classroom.

They are allowed to sit on the carpet, but I would love for them to have more comfortable seating options. I feel that when a classroom environment is more inviting and comfortable, students perform at a completely different level. Using flexible seating in my classroom would definitely improve the students drive for learning!
