My Students

Hello! I teach 5th grade math at an extremely high-poverty school in Middle Tennessee. My students come from many different backgrounds, we have a high ESL population, and many of our students are considered at-risk students.

This year I would love to provide my students with a variety of seating options.

I know when I work I want to be comfortable. I believe students benefit from being able to choose a seat they find themselves comfortable in. I’d love to be able to provide a variety of seating options in my classroom.

My Project

This variety of seating options will help my students get comfortable in the classroom. No one likes having to sit at a desk all day long in an uncomfortable chair. The items I chose for this project will allow students who need to stay active seating options that allow them to wiggle, bounce and move throughout class.

The portable lap desks will allow students the ability to leave their desk while maintaining a work station.

Students will be able to get down on the floor to problem solve together. The stools will allow my students to have a comfortable seat while working in a small group setting at my back table.
