Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a special education teacher in a title 1 school district, suffering from severe financial difficulties, my goal is to assist my students with learning functional life-readiness skills that will enhance their independence in society.

Our classroom is composed of children with significant global delays who are learning the ins and outs of emotional, academic and career-readiness skills.

Each student learns through various modalities - tactile, verbal, aural, visual - and in our district, we cannot meet every various learning style due to our lack of funding.

My Project

The 2020-21 school year has been challenging for everyone, but as things begin to look up, we are focusing on making the upcoming new school year the best year yet!

With these types of materials, I will be able to create various task boxes focusing on fine-motor skills, early phonemic awareness, simple math skills and functional money skills.

Please help me provide a fun, engaging and hands-on learning experience for my students in our self-contained, elementary classroom. It's time for these students to love learning and coming to school again!
