This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a kindergarten teacher at P.S. 250 in Brooklyn where approximately 80% of the students receive free lunch. One of my goals is to pass on my love of learning to the students in my class. I believe that if we nurture their curiosity early on we can begin to spark that internal motivation that children need in order to successfully continue their academic endeavors.
In the quest to keep my students motivated, interested and curious, I have found that Scholastic's "Let's Find Out" magazine is an invaluable resource for kindergarten. The kids love learning from the engaging activities in subjects such as reading, math, science, and social studies to name a few, and they can really use the practice for homework.
Unfortunately, the students in my class cannot afford to subscribe. I have 26 very bright, eager and lovely kindergarteners and you would make this class really happy and at the same time be a part of their academic growth if you could donate Scholastic's "Let's Find Out" educational magazine to the class.
