Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonderful mix of our East Harlem neighborhood and of the cultures in our city. Most are attending school for the first time and are eager to see and touch everything they encounter.

With current guidelines in place, I want to create an inviting and engaging set of materials for each one child to work with without the need to share.

In addition, this machine would allow for color to enter the classroom and make it a vibrant, engaging and nurturing environment for my students.

My Project

The last year and a half has been a diffucilt time for everyone, and especially for the young children who have been inside for the entire time. This will be the first time they are in school, around other children and teachers and the transition will be alot more difficult than it has been in previous years.

I am looking to create an environment that is not only welcoming but personalized for each student.

I want them to feel that the classroom is an extension of home. The cricut machine will help me turn our classroom into a safe space, a fun space and one that the children will feel at ease in.
