Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are enthusiastic learners. We spend most of our day focused on learning reading, math and writing skills, areas in which they are excelling! It is also vital that students are given the opportunity to be creative and develop artistic skills.

Many of my kindergarten students have never been to pre-school and have had no previous school experiences.

They are so excited about all learning activities. It is wonderful to teach such eager learners! Kindergarten is very academic and my focus is mastering Common Core standards and preparing all students for first grade, while balancing the development of art and music skills at the same time.

My Project

We have an art center in our classroom, where students can be creative. During our afternoon center time, students can paint, color, draw, cut, etc. With new supplies like sponges, paint rollers, new paint brushes my students will continue to create wonderful works of art. Many of my students do not have art supplies at home and don't have opportunities to engage in projects like this outside of school.

These new art supplies will bring smiles to lots of kindergarten faces!

I am always overjoyed to see how excited kindergarten students are about coming to school and learning! By giving them lots of opportunities to learn across all curricular areas, especially the arts, students will be able to continue their love for learning.
