Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"If a child can't learn the way you teach, then maybe, we should teach the way they learn. -Ignacio Estrada. My students are hands on, multi-sensory learners who are extremely savvy when it comes to technology. They are growing as readers and writers this school year and I'd like to continue supporting their progress!

I'd like our room to become a space filled with learning tools that students will actively engage in.

Literacy skills such as vocabulary and reading comprehension are abstract concepts for my students and I'd like to make it more concrete for them. Hands on repetition and reinforcement is key!

My Project

Rather than listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration, my students learn best by doing! Kinesthetic and visual approaches increases students ability to retain new topics and it engages students in a way that is fun. In order to do this effectively, we need to tools and resources to create engaging learning materials.

The donation from this new project will support a higher engagement in

literacy. Through these materials, students will have access to differentiated questioning cards, vocabulary word rings, measures to check for understanding, color coded activities, and art activities to display social studies, literacy, and science concepts.
