I would like to teach my little first graders and celebrate the Lunar New Year with crafts, origami art, snacks and more. My students are very inquisitive and always have questions to ask. They will have such a great time learning about the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dragon.
I want my students to learn about different cultures and celebrations.
Celebrating Lunar New Year is important to our classroom family. My first grade scholars will enjoy listening to the read aloud stories, creating crafts and trying some snacks. The LEGO set will be used as our team building activity, where we learn to work together and share to create a master piece. We will also compare and contrast the modern and ancient celebrations and look at how things we may think of as Chinese like fortune cookies are actually a western addition.
