My Project

My third-grade students attend a very small, rural Pennsylvania school. Our teachers embrace this rural advantage and make the effort to break the mold of the traditional classroom setting by connecting our students to their community and utilizing the plethora of resources that our country setting provides us.

As we all know, public school budgets are under more strain than ever before.

The money we're allocated barely covers what we need and teachers are spending so much to keep their classrooms comfortable and creative. I'm looking for a way to immediately recognize students for their successes in the classroom. I would like a Fuji Instax instant camera so that I have the ability to capture students as they excel at their work, play, or service to the community. I envision taking these photos and sending them home to parents with notes of encouragement, or hanging them in a classroom display. I think this would be a great way to foster engagement and relationships within our school family. There's also potential to have students as the photographer, or to use photography to illustrate writing projects. The possibilities are endless!
