This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It's time prepare for End of Course Exams! Many of my students are preparing for a yearly cumulative exam without calculators approved for the test. Your donation would allow my students to have the resources, in both printed and technological form, needed to practice and prepare for their exam.

My students are a wonderful bunch of bright and motivated students dedicated to Mathematics and their academics.

Our school is a 6-12 Public Charter School in which about 93% of the students are of Hispanic descent and many are either first or second generation citizens. Additionally, over 50% of the school's population is on either free or reduced lunch. Our students are well-rounded, well-behaved and motivated young adults who care about representing themselves and their school in a positive way. They have made and continue to make our school one of the best to work and learn at.

My Project

My students are preparing for a yearly cumulative exam that is pass or fail. This exam determines whether they receive credit for an entire year's worth of work! The calculators I am requesting, 99 Basic Classroom Calculators and 39 TI-30IIS Scientific Calculators, contain the approved capabilities for the exam the student's are taking. Many students are either without a calculator or currently practicing with calculators handed down from older siblings and they are therefore practicing with a resource they will not be allowed to use on their exam. My students need a consistent resource they can rely on to prepare them throughout the school year. Additionally, the Epson All-In-One Printer I am requesting for my classroom will make it possible for me to not only assist students in completing their assignments, many are without printing capabilities at home, but allow me to scan and upload practice worksheets for students to access via the Internet and project during lessons.

Your donation will be providing my students with a firm foundation for their future education in mathematics.

Our school is doing its best to encourage a solid understanding of mathematics and science so students can be prepared for an advancing technological world. Your contribution toward calculators and a printer will allow our students to advance their understanding each day in my classroom. I will be able to provide them with printed and technological resources to encourage their growth.
