My class has a diverse range of abilities, language skills, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are ready to learn and excited to be at school with their peers. The students have a wide range of reading levels and previous school experiences. For some, this is their first year in school. For others they have previous school experiences. Regardless of their prior school experiences, my students bring their ideas to the classroom and love sharing their thoughts and ideas.
My students enjoy learning in a collaborative environment.
We have a designated time each day where the students create, work and explore through hands on activities.
My Project
All of my students enjoy learning through hands on experiences. These tiles will give my students the opportunity to explore STEAM learning by creating geometric designs using sturdy tiles. These tiles provide an engaging opportunity to build math, science, spacial and fine motor skills. The students can use their imagination to create 3D designs, buildings and objects.
My students love building with basic blocks, and I would like to be able to take this excitement and move it into a STEAM activity by allowing for more creative 3D designs.
The magnets allow these designs to be saved from one day to the next. They will also be able to create and see first hand the basic 3D shapes that we study in class. Having a large collection of tiles will allow my students to work with friends and in small groups.
