My Students

Everyday I am fortunate to be around scholars that are the best that Nashville, TN has to offer. With the release of the 2017 TN Ready results, our school was named a double Reward School for both achievement and growth, the only open enrollment school in MNPS to achieve this status and among the top 5% in the state.

What makes them so special?

I would love to say that we, as educators, have a magic wand that we wave every morning over scholars that enhance their knowledge. But the magic comes from each individual scholar. They each have a thirst for learning that every teacher dreams of a scholar having. What makes them even more special is that they are able to perform academically with students in the state who schools have far more resources and financial means.

My Project

Who doesn't love Legos? This year we have the opportunity to participate in our first First Lego Jr competition. Our scholars are excited about learning how to build and code their collabotated creation. For some scholars, this will be their first time not only building with Legos and coding but also competing. The only factors that stands in the way of their success are the financial resources needed to purchase materials and the registration fee. It would be so amazing to see what they are able to accomplish when given the full opportunity to finesse their build, coding, and creativity skills.
