My Project

I would like to bring to my students and others a special holiday and tradition that a lot of Asians around the world celebrate every year, the Lunar New Year. The materials such as the Lunar New Year decorations, clothes, and the claw machines will help second graders take a closer look at some of the traditions such as lion dancing, firecrackers, red packets, and unique food and games.

I plan to explore, compare and contrast several cultures such as the Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and more using this holiday.

The claw machines will motivate my students to earn their New Year coins when they follow directions and rules. They can use the coins in the machine to get their mini prizes.

I hope you can assist me in making this learning a fun and educational one.
