My Students

The first graders in my class this year are *thrilled* to be together for in-person learning and they hope to remain in person throughout the year for the best school experience possible!

A diverse group of learners, this crew is creative, patient, eager and attentive.

Though over 80% of these students spent their Kindergarten year learning virtually, they are adjusting well to the classroom setting as we've begun the school year 2021-2022.

My Project

Safely returning to the classroom setting in the middle of the current surge of the highly contagious SARS-Cov-2 delta variant requires using a variety of interventions to reduce Covid-19 infection risk for students and staff, in addition to protecting the larger community.

While we have current intervention strategies in place, it does not include portable air purifiers in our classrooms.

Although they were provided in our classrooms SY20-21, they were unfortunately and surprisingly removed from our by our school district over summer break. We need your help getting them back!

The use of portable air purifiers is a proven risk reduction strategy that involves reducing the concentration of infectious SARS-Cov-2 virus particles by filtering them out of classroom air. The use of portable classroom air filtration systems, along with existing central air filtration systems with MERV13 filters, will provide of a robust system for removing viruses from the air in addition to improving airflow.
