My Students

Kindergartners... they are full of energy, love learning, and are excited for anything and everything! Some of our favorite things include storytelling, science exploration, writing books, doing art projects, and we love reading books.

Kindergarten is a magical year which helps children form expectations for lifelong learning.

My students are full of inquiry, questions, and love new opportunities to learn. This is the most amazing group of students and I hope to always provide meaningful and exciting learning opportunities for them!

My Project

For the past several years, I have been studying the process of teaching and learning in Reggio Emilia, Italy. I've been inspired to bring some of these ideas into my kindergarten classroom. Light, transparency, and reflection are all important presentation elements as kids make discoveries and ask questions with their new materials.

Creating provocations which inspire kindergartners to question, explore, and test new ideas is very important to me.

This year, I'd like to add a light table and a variety of science and math materials to our classroom. Kids will be able to explore a variety of x-rays, try out new building materials, see what insects and animals look like close up, have a different way to sort and add during math time, observe agate slices, and experiment with combining colors.

I can't wait to set up our new light table as a permanent fixture in our classroom. We will be able to use it during every subject area and during our Purposeful Play time.
