Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

About My Students

This student-led project is led by one of my AP Government students, Jerry. He is very dedicated to passing the AP exam in May. This student led project is very exciting to me because it shows me the level of motivation to pass the AP Exam and improve our overall passing rate.

Jerry developed this project after we received our review books. The class really loved the review books and said that they deeply and dramatically helped their studying process. Passing the AP exam in May is a very big deal in our classroom. He was the main driving force after our practice exam. Jerry scored very high, but did not know some of the questions. With the Chromebooks, the students can research the answer and learn more about our government as well as take practice exams online to better improve their score.

My students are of all types. Some want to be doctors, some want to be engineers, and some want to be film directors. This project will help the students pursue a high education because it will teach them and also involve them in the democratic process. This project will make the students more aware about policies and the voting process. I believe that all of my students will one day be able to cast a ballot, and this project will help them understand the things that they are voting for. It will also stimulate interaction between their peers. The class will work on several projects researching topics that pertain to this upcoming election. The student will be able to work together to get their projects completed.

In Their Own Words

This is my second AP class that I have taken. The course is very rigorous and demanding. We study for countless amounts of time to fully understand the topics and chapters. The Chromebooks will allow us to do more research during class, so we can have a better understanding of American Government before we take the final test in May.

With my teacher's help, I plan to help him write this project because it will not only help me, but help the entire class pass the AP exam. Helping my teacher write this project has also helped me understand why having more resources available to us will help us better understand U.S. government and pass the AP exam.

This project is important to me because I can help the class receive chromebooks that will help my peers pass the AP exam and surpass the passing rate from last year. This is also important to the school because this project will benefit the juniors, sophomores, and freshman who want to take this course in their senior year.
