Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Just when you think you know your students they always surprise you. My students are some of the brightest and most inquisitive students that I have come across. They come to school every day, ready to learn new and exciting things.
Sometimes all kids need is a chance.
A lot of my students will never get a chance to see the world, experience new ideas, or test new emerging technologies that will prepare them for the future and opportunities.
This is where my classes can prepare them for all the opportunities that will afford them if they were only given a chance.
My Project
Coming from a urban school in Dallas, where we are especially close to an airport, my astronomy students will never get to see the magic that is the universe with their own eyes. I want to give them that chance. With this telescope, we will stay after school and explore the universe.
Being so close to Love Field, my students can barely see 1-2 stars at night.
Yet, there are thousands visible with the naked eye, only if not for light pollution. This telescope can cut through the light pollution, and let my astronomy students see the wonders of the universe.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
