My Students

At the end of the school year, I want my students to be well rounded individuals with a love for learning. I want them to develop both intellectually and creatively.

My students are a group of 27 boys and girls from very mixed backgrounds.

More than half are from low-socioeconomic families who want the best for their children. Our school is a Title My school is a community school, of approximately 650 students, grades K-3. The students I teach are excited about learning and earning "BRAIN WRINKLES" each and every day. They are full of energy and enthusiasm and all possess a really inquisitive nature. They are also a very caring group of children who are compassionate and giving to one another.

My Project

My students need music CDs, ribbon wands, egg shakers, and other musical materials to develop the whole child. Music is the universal language. It is a link between the creative and the intellectual parts of the brain. Children must learn to connect to music and rhythm in order to become creative and well rounded. There are studies that show that academic achievement is increased when music is a part of learning. My students need the rhythm ribbons, CDs, egg shakers, and other musical materials to become the best they can be. These materials will be used by all students as we work toward meeting common core skills. Music will be integrated into reading, language, and math to help each student reach his/her full potential.

Donations to this project will make a difference by giving my students new and creative ways to learn the common core standards.

Through music all students will connect and thrive. The students will emerge from kindergarten as well rounded and appreciative little people, who will grow into those same type of adults. Through donations to our musical project, you will touch lives and create masterpieces.
