My Students

I proudly teach a preschool through 8th grade science lab. This year the lab will be focusing on health issues. Health science literacy is immeasurably valuable for personal decision making. We want our students to make healthy choices based on scientific knowledge.

My students range in ages from 4-14, attend an inclusive public elementary school, and are enthusiastic learners.

They love to be active and are motivated by hands-on activities and experiments. I see approximately 500 students a week! We are large learning family.

My Project

My students love to play games! This grant allows me to purchase a variety of health related games that will engage and challenge my students. The games chosen are for different grade levels and cover a variety of topics. Students will learn about the importance of healthy eating, exercise, personal hygiene, drug avoidance, and more. In upper grades, students will discuss and analyze the influences of family, peers and environmental factors that impact healthy behavior and disease prevention. Playing games will allow students to see the consequences of their different choices in a safe space, and hopefully make healthy decisions in the future. Learning while playing is fun, engaging and builds camaraderie!

Your donation will help develop health science literate students that will hopefully make healthy choices based on science fact in the future.

The games purchased will add a fun and educational experience for over 500 students! Let's play and learn together!
