Help me give my students the chance to be seen during virtual learning. Having a Dell HD Monitor connected to my laptop, I will be able to present my lesson and see my students at the same time.
As an Integrated co-teaching classroom (ICT) located just outside of New York City, my classroom is comprised of students with various learning styles and abilities. Some of my students have special needs, some have learning disabilities, and some are general education students with individual needs as well.
The one commonality amongst all my students is their hunger for learning.
Regardless of what life has thrown at them recently, they continue to strive to be the best students they can be. Our school motto is “Build a bridge, change the world!” and I need to give them the tools to do that.
My Project
Due to closures from COVID, my school continues to experience closures as often as 10 days at a time. When presenting virtual lessons to my students, my screen is either split in two, where I see tiny "dime sized" images of my students, or their faces are hidden altogether.
Having a second screen will enable me to see the faces of my students as we progress through the learning process, enabling me to tell just by their facial expressions whether or not they understand the concepts without their having to say a word or be embarased to ask a question.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
