My Project

I have a large class this year, and I need a way to be more efficient with my smartboard. I have a document camera, a wireless keyboard, and a mouse. I would love a rolling cart to utilize the equipment I already have. I have created slides to deliver both my math and explicit phonics curriculum. I've made these slides interactive so the students are engaged and involved in each lesson. Because I have such a large class this year, the students seated in the back have difficulty seeing everything. The smartboard lets me magnify documents and slides to ensure all can access the displays. I am currently using a student's desk with two tin coffee cans stacked on one another to prop up a document camera. I must also hold my mousepad and wireless mouse up to connect to the screen. Having a raised surface on wheels will allow me to teach more efficiently by keeping all of my curriculum in one place and save me a lot of time from running back and forth to my desktop to type onto a slide. This will keep my students engaged and learning and not waiting on me. 28 eight and nine-year-olds will lose focus when I turn my back to my desktop. The drop leaves will be a game changer when simultaneously using the document camera and having my teacher's manuals on the surface.

The multiplication bracelets will be fun and motivate students to master multiplication facts this year.

Mastery of these facts is the foundation for 3rd-grade mathematics. Anything I can do to motivate my students to learn their facts is a win for me! My students love incentives, and I can already see them proudly wearing these bracelets when they master another fact.
