My Students

My students have very inquiring minds and show an interest in what is happening in the world around them. As a class, we enjoy discussing and interacting on projects revolving around the subjects of math, language arts and science. I believe a student learns best when they are "doing."

Because of COVID the last few years have been interrupted many times and there are missing chunks in the educational achievement levels of my students.

This group of students have a tough time focusing. These items get their whole mind and body involved with the topics.

The Yoga Balls serve as rewards (for seating) and can be soothing for overactive and high energy students. I want them to truly understand Reading, Math and Science. I want them to be able to draw it out, explain it and write it.

My Project

With these items I will better be able to provide all students with hands-on experiences in math and science. We use individual whiteboards with markers so they can all model and calculate quickly and then hold up the whiteboard so I can see if they understand the topics (right in the moment). Batteries and Weather instruments are used in Science Lessons.

The Magna-Tiles provided 2-D and 3-D modeling experiences to show that they understand area of shapes, volume of shapes, and fractional relationships to the whole units.

These tiles stick to the classroom whiteboard and are a real hands-on modeling tool.

Markers for individual whiteboards, and white boards in the front of the room, help them prove they are getting the points we are discussing. These are quick checks that all students participate right at the moment. Magna-Tiles give students a 2-D and 3-D vision of surface area, volume, and fraction portions. If they can model a topic they will understand it.

Yoga balls are an aid to keep overactive students involved. They can be used as a reward seating and a soothing seat so the students can focus on the topic at hand. All of these items will reach everyone of my students.
