My Students

My kids come from a place where they have received very limited resources at home, and unfortunately at school too. They are not given the materials that are necessary for them to develop their minds to the full potential. These children are so talented and special, and just need to receive equitable opportunity that other schools get to reach their full potential.

We are working day in and day out to show these kids that they can learn and they will succeed!

My Project

Literature is so important in an elementary school classroom. Especially when students come from a place where they don't experience a ton of resources with characters that look like them.

These books will reach students in so many ways- seeing pictures of characters that look like them will help them feel a connection that may transcend into their daily life.

Do you remember your favorite books as kids? So do I! Finding books that students can connect with is so important. These books that I have chosen will not only help with mindfulness, self regulation, and spreading kindness- but will also help with creating a diverse classroom library that can reach all of the students.
