Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My self-contained high school classroom needs storage. Storage will free up space in our classroom to create learning zones that will foster learning and aid in students reaching their individual levels of success.

According to a recent report from Psychology Today, clutter reduces focus and makes students less productive and more irritable.

It can be especially distracting for students with overexcitabilities. As a self-contained special education teacher, I want my students to walk into an environment that inspires and motivates.

An organized classroom will do just that and can have a lasting impact on my students and their education. With less clutter, our classroom atmosphere will feel warmer and more inviting. Mounted storage units such as cabinets will allow for more square footage in my classroom. The freed-up space will allow me to create different learning zones for students to work on IEP goals.

Access to full size refrigerator will not only allow storage for student lunches but will allow me to store the food items the students will cook during life skills and transition skills activities. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly for your time and consideration.
