My Students
My students currently attend a PreK-8th Grade Title I school. More than 40% of the students in the school are English Language Learners, meaning English is their second language. Many of my students lack life experiences and rarely travel outside of our neighborhood.
When people say that the United States is a melting pot, I believe that my current school is a perfect example of this.
Many of our students come from different countries, and their families are trying to create better lives for them.
Additionally, some of our students are classified both as language learners and students with disabilities; therefore, we have a wide range of learners in our school that can benefit from these funds.
My Project
Having more computers and iPads available to us in our classroom will give us the ability to make our lessons more engaging and inclusive for our students. Having a Lenovo computer in our classroom will allow for us to have more technology accessible for students minimizing sharing and exposure for the students in my classroom.
Having a Lenovo laptop will allow another student in my room to gain access to more digital, engaging lessons for our students.
Having to be 6 feet apart and not being able to share school supplies this year has made it difficult to include engagement in our lessons such as small group work.
A Lenovo laptop will allow more students in our classroom to have. access to programs such as iReady, Kahoot!, NearPod, and Mentimeter. These programs allow for more interactive lessons for our students. It will also facilitate more group work!
