This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We attempt to record all athletic contests for our players in all of the sports They participate in. These videos are used for yearbook, awards banquets, personal videos and thank you cards. Many players also use these videos for college recruiting and submitting to college coaches.

Our student athletes are predominantly from a lower socio-economic area.

They are hardworking, deserving athletes. We ask them to participate in fundraisers during the school year for various things. They fundraise every year for program necessities and there is rarely money left over to purchase things of need such as a camcorder. I would like to get them a new camcorder to capture all the hard work they put in and let them enjoy the memories

My Project

We are requesting a new digital camcorder to allow the students to record all of their game films and create digital images of each sport they play. This camcorder will also be used by various other programs to benefit the school such as senior picnics, dances, rallies, and other school events. This camcorder is all digital so students will not have to worry about video tapes and locating new ones. Students will be able to record and transfer images to their own storage devices, this would simplify file sharing and recording images.

Providing this new digital camcorder for our students gives them the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Many of our students do not even own a regular or digital camera. This camcorder will allow us to capture a portion of their high school years as memories they can cherish for a lifetime. This camcorder will also assist our athletic department by allowing all of our athletic students the opportunity to record games and send to colleges for possible scholarships. Thanks!
