My Students

Our second-grade girls and boys attend a public school in a large urban city. It is a Title I school with more than 60% of students receiving a reduced rate or free lunch. The students come from a number of multicultural backgrounds. The children come to school each day enthusiastically ready to learn and thrive. Friendship and kindness are valued in our classroom. Respect and responsibility are valued in our school. Our school believes every child can learn to their full potential and our teachers and staff support their journey through a strong education.

My Project

Legos, balls, and puzzles will give girls and boys an opportunity to play, share, and become creative throughout the school year. Legos give children time to think and build. The small Gator Skin Dodgeballs give students playtime to develop large and small motor skills during various games in physical education class. Puzzles promote problem solving, discussions, and friendships.

Hands-on activities with the Legos and puzzles give students brain breaks.

Tossing and catching small balls gives students movement and exercise. The children will learn to cooperate and work together. The Legos, balls, and puzzles give students an opportunity to grow and learn in a classroom for their curious minds.
