My students attend school in a low income, high poverty city, where they have overcome more challenges by the time they enter fifth grade than most students. I work daily with these students to create a learning environment that takes them away from their day to day struggles and submerges them into a world of so many possibilities and experiences. I love to incorporate new, meaningful experiences in our classroom.
Many of my students may never leave the city and lack real-life experiences needed to build background knowledge and exciting educational experiences.
These students deserve a space that is comfortable and that they can call their own. They deserve lessons, materials, and opportunities that get them excited about learning.
My Project
The variety of LEGO materials will help grow my STEM lab for my students and offer a variety of materials to build with and manipulate to solve problems. The LEGO bricks listed in this project gives us a variety of LEGO pieces and bases to build on.
LEGO learning is highly engaging to students and lends itself to so many STEM lessons and activities.
Using the LEGO boards students can create mazes and buildings using the pieces provided. These materials will provide my students with hands-on learning and access to fun and engaging materials that will lead my students to learning how to solve problems, work collaboratively, and manipulate tools.
