LEGO Mathematicians

Help me give my students the LEGO tools needed for building equations and fractions.

My Project

My students are struggling with some math concepts: solving equations, understanding fractions, and multiplication. The idea is to use LEGO bricks to create a physical and visual representation of the problem to make solving it easier. Students will be able to move the bricks within an equation or represent a fraction. Students will also be able to use the LEGO multiplication chart to understand multiplication.

My goal is for my students to be able to complete these concepts by using the LEGO bricks at first and transitioning to independent mental math.

My students are in the resource setting and come from diverse backgrounds, which causes several challenges for them. Their school setting allows my students more steps to achievement and success in their classes. Math is a big struggle for them and any physical manipulation would benefit their learning.
